MANOLIS LARENTZAKIS

 

He was born in Piskopiano of Chersonniso. Since he was very young he liked Cretan music. He appeared for first time in 1969 to play lute. He quickly became very famous and many lyrists wanted to be cooperated with him. He played next to many remarkable lyrists such as: Giorgo Kalomiri, Niko Sopasi, Gianni Koufalitaki, Manoura, Kefalogianni, Stelio Vasilaki, Alecho Polychronaki, Manoli Karpoutzaki and many others.

He has taken part in many discographic works, with enough artists of the country. In 1975 he produced his first personal disc of 45 strophes. In 1976 he made another discographic work with Niko Sopasi. In 1981 he wrote his second personal disc. He has played lute and has sung not only in Greece. After many invitations of Greek fellow countrymen he has visited many times America, Canada, Australia, Egypt and Cyprus. In the summery months he is occupied with the tavern "Metochi" in Piskopiano of Chersonniso.
